I have seen this drop by Vistrix and Champion of the Honorguard. This is defo a Necromancer T1 staff. Just check the "Worn By" tab. The Demo T1 staff is called "Stave of Malefic Rites".
@Macros: Just because you can use it as a Demo, it does not mean thats who it is meant for. If you role need in a pug and a Necro needs then you would be considered a ninja looter and im sure the people in the raid would put you on their ban list. Only need as a Demo if a Necro doesnt need and the raid group agrees.
Errr not seeing anything listed that makes this a specific demo OR Necro staff. Me thinks some people take there Conan a lil too seriously
To clear some stuff up. This is what used to be the Tier 1 Necro staff but as they removed the "Class bound" on all weapons in patch 1.05 this also works for Demos. However, most guilds and PuG-teams still count this weapon as being a Necro weapon meaning you should be very careful to roll need before you have checked what rules apply for rolls on weapons.
The oldest comments are made pre patch 1.05 meaning it would only drop from Vistrix then, but as all T1 bosses now drops weapons you can get it from both Kyllikki and Yakhmar aswell as from Vistrix.

Since the class restrictions don't exist on this staff, any profession that uses a staff and is a mage or priest can greatly benefit from this. The fact that peeps spout off that its a demo/necro staff and they infact should be the only ones to roll a need must indeed be a demo/necro.
The staff is a necro staff.., the looks/stats etc! Dont take a genious to figure that out., and theres so many dif classes ingame that it is nice to have some loot restriction when "finally" some items fo your class drops, hence the armor still is restricted.,., If the other class have the item its free for all wearers., The reason why people hang on to this is that 90% of raiders first choice of weapons is still the original parts., and the rest 10% is useless newbies who wanks off to pressing need when they see purple drops they can wear., greed rolls are there fo a reason! use it assholes!
I dont care what do u think is it necro or demo :-p I am TOS and I can benefit from this staff aso if I can I will roll greed at least.
